Irish-American rock duo Cinder Sky unite through DNA discovery to release powerful debut single

Separated by more than 5,000 km of Atlantic Ocean, Cinder Sky is the collaboration between Portlaoise composer Phil McClean and New York singer-songwriter Johnny Wyse, who discovered they were connected through both blood and music after matching on a DNA genealogy website.

What began as an unexpected family connection soon evolved into a creative partnership, blending Phil's cinematic songwriting with Johnny's powerful vocals to create modern rock with an emotional edge.

Their debut single, "Bless The Goddess, Curse Your Kings," draws inspiration from both alternative and classic rock while delivering a timely message. Written in response to the rise of authoritarian politics and increasing division around the world, the song is a passionate rejection of fascism, racism, anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and hatred in all its forms.

Driven by soaring melodies, powerful guitars and an anthemic chorus, the track is both a statement of intent and a reminder that music can bring people together across borders, literally.

With members based in Ireland and the United States, Cinder Sky proves that distance is no barrier when artists share the same vision.

"Bless The Goddess, Curse Your Kings" is available on major streaming platforms July 11.
